Benefits of extended fasting
0-4 Hours (Fed State): The body digests food, utilizing glucose and storing excess energy.
4-16 Hours (Glycogen Depletion/Fat-Burning Start): Liver glycogen is depleted, and the body shifts to burning fat for fuel. Ketosis typically begins around 12–14 hours.
16-24 Hours (Autophagy Begins): Cellular cleanup (autophagy) initiates around 16 hours. Fat burning accelerates.
24-36 Hours (Deep Autophagy): Significant autophagy begins, leading to increased inflammation reduction.
36-48 Hours (Growth Hormone Rise): Autophagy remains high, and the body increases growth hormone for repair.
48-72+ Hours (Deep Ketosis/Peak Repair): Peak autophagy and stem cell regeneration occur, with deep ketosis enhancing fat loss.
